Joey Sarno is a North Carolina native. He moved to Los Angeles in 2015 after receiving his Master of Fine Arts in Theatre: Stage Design from Carnegie Mellon University. 

 

After landing in Los Angeles, Joey had the great pleasure of working with production designers John Shaffner & Joe Stewart on a variety of projects including talk shows, holiday specials, and live musical performances. Since then, he has had the great pleasure of working across multiple mediums including single camera hour long dramas, multi-camera sitcoms and full length features.

 

Joey's work as an art director includes such projects as Rob Lowe & Victor Fresco's Unstable for Netflix, Kristin Newman's While You Were Breeding for Freefrom, and Sanaa Lathan's directorial debut of On the Come Up by Angie Thomas for Paramount Plus. Other notable series include The Upshaws for Netflix, The Conners for ABC, and Ordinary Joe for NBC.

He has been nominated for an Emmy Award, as art director on The Carol Burnett Show 50th Anniversary Special for CBS. He maintains an active membership in both the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences as well as the Art Directors Guild (IA Local 800).
